Puppy FAQ’s:

  • All of our breeding stock are cleared for hereditary conditions known to the Labrador Retriever breed.  Our Stud Dogs and Brood Bitches are cleared for Hip and Elbow Dysplasia ,Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) , EIC, DNM, , TVD, CM and HNPK through DNA testing and results are posted on OFA. We utilize Paw Print Genetic, DDC Laboratories and UC Davis Veterinary School for our genetic testing and I make every effort to breed healthy and happy well socialized Labradors.
  • My dogs are bred to the Labrador Standard.  There is no such thing as “American” or “English”  a pure bred Labrador is a Labrador and should look like a Labrador!
  • For reference, a well-bred Labrador puppy from a reputable breeder can cost between $3000-$4000.
  • Puppies are born and raised in my home.  At 4 weeks of age they will move to the back patio for the day and back inside for night.
  • I breed Black, yellow and occasionally chocolate Labradors. These are the ONLY 3 colors purebred Labradors.  Any other “color” is a mixed breed and if someone tells you otherwise run fast and far as that is not a “breeder” but a con artist. BUYER BEWARE
  • Puppies are highly socialized and handled.  We follow the RULE OF 7 – Early Neurological Stimulation.
  • I am a hobby breeder and only breed when I want a puppy for myself and my breeding program.  This may be once a year at most. I breed to keep a puppy or two for myself.
  • I do not start a waiting list until pregnancy is confirmed.
  • I pick and match puppies with prospective/approved families.  It is not first come first serve. Please do not ask about getting pick of the litter.
  • Puppies are not sold over email or internet.  I must meet and speak to you personally to make sure you are good match for the puppy and me.
  • Deposits are only accepted once I contact you and let you know there is a prospective puppy for you.
  • Puppies are placed on a spay/neuter contract and limited registration. I do not place puppies as breeding stock or show dogs.
  • Puppies will go home at or around 8 weeks of age.  I do not ship puppies.  If you are out of the area, you will need to make arrangements on getting puppy home safely.
  • Puppies will have received first puppy shots at 6-7 weeks and been wormed at least 3 times.
  • All puppies are microchipped before they go to new homes.
  • Puppies will have been checked by veterinarian and cleared before they go home.  New owners must get puppy checked by their veterinarian within 48 hours of pick up.
  • All Puppies are required to be registered with the AKC. I handle all puppy registration.
  • No refunds. I take back any puppy I breed, no questions asked and will find a suitable home for that puppy. In fact, I require first right of refusal if you can no longer keep the pup. A puppy is a lifelong commitment.
  • Many of my puppies go on to service organizations and become working service/support dogs.
